Data Protection and Privacy Statement

ALOHA (Native English Teachers) is a provider of various educational products and services, In relation to our compliance of privacy policy and procedure, all data held by ALOHA is maintained and processed in the files under the responsibility of Founder and Owner HELEN DIXON, ALOHA (Native English Teachers) (hereinafter THE ENTITY), with registered address RUA CATALUNYA 22, 15403 FERROL (A CORUNA); alohaingles@hotmail.co.uk.

In order to provide these products and/or services we need to use personal data. That means that we may need to use information about you, for example your name, address, email address, phone number, date of birth, exam results, voice or video recording or other information by which we can tell who you are. We might collect the data from you directly or via the website.

Sometimes we might even need to hold special personal data about you, for example information about your health. But we would only hold this type of special information if we have a clear reason for doing so, such as to make special arrangements or in relation to school term. Where appropriate, we would seek permission first. If you are 16 years of age or more then you would need to give us that permission, but if you are younger than that we would need to get permission from your parent or guardian.

What personal data do we collect?

  • attendance (such as sessions attended, number of absences, absence reasons and any previous schools attended)

  • assessment and attainment (such as key stage 1 and phonics results, post 16 courses enrolled for and any relevant results)

  • behavioural information (such as exclusions and any relevant alternative provision put in place)

  • transaction data including your credit card number when you make a payment to us

  • profile data including purchases made by you, preferences, feedback, survey responses and any usernames

  • usage data including how you use our website, products and services

  • marketing data including your preferences in receiving marketing from us

  • technical data including internet protocol (IP) address, login data, browser type and technology used to access this website.

 

Why do we collect and use your information?

We collect and use information about you and our users/learners:

  • to support learning processes and services

  • to monitor and report on learners attainment progress

  • to provide the appropriate care and attention required for each individual person

  • to assess the quality of our services

  • to ensure relevant health and safety requirements are available at all times on and off site.

  • to meet the statutory duties placed upon us under educational legislation

  • to keep all people involved in ALOHA(Native English Teachers)  safe and from harm.

 

How do we collect your personal data?

We collect information about you when you:

  • request marketing to be sent to you

  • attend an course/event

  • register on our website

  • request products or services

  • provide us with your personal information from your usage of our website and any other information you post on our website, email or otherwise send to us

  • otherwise provide us with information in the course of our interactions with you.

 

Pupil data is essential for the schools’ operational use. Whilst the majority of pupil information you provide to us is mandatory, some of it requested on a voluntary basis. In order to comply with the data protection legislation, we will inform you at the point of collection, whether you are required to provide certain pupil information to us or if you have a choice in this.

In the event that any of the services and products are aimed at children under 16 years of age. ALOHA (Native English Teachers) will request the consent of the parents or guardians for the collection of the personal data of the minor. ALOHA (Native English Teachers) does not respond to those data of minors that without being able to know ALOHA (Native English Teachers) this fact has been facilitated without the consent of the parents or tutors.

How do we use your personal data?

We will only use your personal information in the following ways:

    • to enable us to supply you with the products and services and information that you have requested

    • to help us in the development of, and to improve our products and services

    • to provide you with information about products or services that may be of interest to you, using the email address which you have provided or via social media

Who is responsible for managing my data?

In relation to the above mentioned all data collected from our users is managed solely by ALOHA (Native English Teachers) This information you provide enables us to manage, administer, provide services or provide products you request, and where appropriate for the fulfilment and execution of the contracts you are part of.

Marketing

We may contact you for marketing purposes relating to our products and services and our website, unless you let us know that you do not want to receive marketing communications. We will only contact you for these marketing purposes by electronic means (email or SMS) where you have agreed to this. Your agreement to the use of your personal information for these purposes is optional and if you decline to provide your agreement, your visit to and use of the website will not be affected.

Marketing opt out: you are entitled to opt out from receipt of marketing communications at any time and free of charge by using the contact details provided in this Privacy Policy or by using the “unsubscribe” option included in any marketing e-mail received from us.

 

Market research

If contacting you to invite you to participate in market research projects, such as questionnaires or interviews, we will only use your personal data for the purpose of the specific project to which you have consented. That personal data will, once the project has been completed, be removed from our systems (see retention below).

How do we share your personal data?

We may share personal data:

  • with ALOHA in relation to examinations and other affiliated businesses and organisations which are owned by it

  • with other people and/or businesses who provide services on our behalf or at our request

  • with regulators and law enforcement agencies, where we are required to do so by law, where necessary for the purposes of preventing fraud and other criminal offences and to ensure network and information security

  • with social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Google, Google Analytics, LinkedIn, in pseudonymised or anonymised forms.

 

Our website offers the possibility to share content on social media channels, e.g. Facebook. The respective social media provider will directly gather your personal data only after you are registered as a visitor to their site. Please refer to the privacy policy of the social media providers to learn more about what personal data is collected and used.

 

Security Measures

ALOHA (Native English Teachers) informs you that it has implemented the security measures of technical and organizational nature necessary to ensure the security of your personal data and avoid their alteration, loss and treatment and / or unauthorized access, given the state of technology, the nature of the stored data and the risks to which they are exposed, whether they come from human action or from the physical or natural environment.

 The user must be aware that security measures on the Internet are not impregnable and entirely reliable and that ALOHA (Native English Teachers) can not guarantee the absence of viruses or other elements that could cause alterations in computer systems (software and hardware) of the user.

 

 

Advertising Cookies

In addition, we may use advertising cookies. These advertise ALOHA across the internet by displaying to you relevant Cambridge English advertising based on what you have viewed. This is done by placing a cookie on your device. Cookies allow us to display advertising that may be relevant to you. Transferring Personal Data

The United Kingdom and countries inside the European Economic Area have specific laws which protect the way personal data is used. We may transfer personal data to countries outside of the European Economic Area where personal data is not protected in the same way (usually to other businesses who provide services on our behalf). In such cases we will make sure that suitable safeguards are in place to protect the personal data. What that means is that whoever we transfer data to will have to agree to protect the personal data in an appropriate way. Retention

Given the confidential nature of the information, you will not be able to exercise your rights by telephone, you must request it by any means that leaves a record of your sending and receiving and for verification purposes your identification maybe required. We may make changes to this Privacy Policy and will let you know about these changes by displaying them on this website. Changes will begin to have effect at the time they are displayed. The version of the Privacy Policy that will apply to you is the one which is current at the time we contact you, you use this website or you use our services.

 

Applicable Legislation

In relation to our company and policy, we provide the interested parties, this agreement in both languages, English and Spanish. In the event of any inconsistency, the English version is the original language and the Spanish version is a translation for information purposes only. Then in case of conflict and legal matters the English version will prevail and will therefore be the binding version for both parties…”
